The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Bingo
Thursday the Extension service sponsors
bingo with nutritious prizes and a lot of fun. The games start at 1
p.m.
Oasis
board meeting
Oasis board meetings are open to the
public. The May meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday (May 20).
To schedule any agenda items, the board must receive notification in
writing on or before the fifth day of the month before a meeting.
Glaucoma
screening
Dr. Jones of Drake Eyecare is available
by appointment at The Oasis on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Call
732-6132 for an appointment for a free glaucoma screening.

Memories
class
The Memories class is scheduled for
Friday starting at 3:45 p.m. Join the lively group to hone your
writing skills. Three members have won national recognition and
prizes from The Senior Network organization.
SHARE
food orders
Self Help and Resource Exchange is an
outreach program sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. May
orders are available for pickup from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at The
Oasis. Stop in if you would like more information about the program.
Veterans
The VA service representative will be
available from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, May 25. No appointment is
necessary.

lunch
Pick up your $3.50 lunch ticket by noon
Monday, May 24, for Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, green
beans, drink and dessert. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Stay for the informative program on prescription drugs.
Medicare
prescription drug program
Information sessions on the Medicare
prescription drug program will be presented at 1 p.m. and again at
6:30 p.m. May 25 by an AARP community representative. The session is
designed to help you make informed choices. No reservation
necessary.
Think
tank
The guest speaker for the May 26 think
tank session at 9:15 a.m. will be Rob Orr, director of economic
development. No reservation is necessary.
Weekly
and weekend winners
Wilbur Wilmert won pinochle and
Marjorie Reiners won rummy honors this past weekend. Mable Hoagland
won weekday pinochle honors.
