[MAY 26, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Lunch and bingo

A new sponsor will be calling bingo on Thursday. Join us at noon for a sandwich lunch, courtesy of St. Clara's Manor, and stay for bingo starting at 1 p.m. Be on hand to help us welcome St. Clara's.

Pork chop lunch Tuesday

Pick up your $3.50 lunch ticket by noon Friday for pork chops, green beans, salad, drink and dessert served at 11:30 a.m. June 1.

Memorial Day closing

The Oasis will be closed May 31 in commemoration of Memorial Day. Join us at 9 a.m. Tuesday for regularly scheduled activities.

Brown bag Rx evaluation

Appointments are still open for Tuesday, June 1, between 1 and 3:30 p.m., to have your medications, both prescribed and over-the-counter, evaluated for drug interaction. A registered pharmacist will provide this free service.

Hearing screening

Call to make a hearing screening appointment for Wednesday, June 2, between 10 a.m. and noon. The service is free. If you need a hearing aid and are on limited income, he Hearing Aid Center will work with you to obtain a refurbished hearing aid.

Weekly and weekend winners

Marjorie Reiners won the free lunch drawing from Bonanza. Eleanor Barton and Helen Cart won weekday pinochle honors, with Les Van Bibber and Esther Will winning the weekend honors. Louise Wiebers and Dorthey Oltmanns won 5 in 1.
