The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Lunch and
bingo
Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor
a light lunch beginning at noon Thursday, as well as bingo games
with prizes, starting at 1 p.m.
Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch Nov. 9 will
feature Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, salad, bread and butter,
dessert and a soft drink for only $3.75. Ticket purchase deadline is
noon Monday.
Turkey
feast Nov. 11
The Nov. 11 potluck will feature
turkey with all the trimmings, and the feast will begin at 11:30
a.m. Seniors are invited to bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation.
The monthly lunch drawing is
sponsored by the senior center. There will be more fun, prizes and
surprises!

Road
Scholar event Nov. 11
A Heartland Community College
Road Scholar event will begin at 1 p.m. Nov. 11. In a
poetry-filled slide presentation, William Furry examines the life and career
of "The Prairie Troubadour," Vachel Lindsay. This program brings to
life the stories about Lindsay in profound and charming ways. No
reservations needed.
Winners
announced
Mable Hoagland, Bernie Haley and
Linda Hughes were the weekday winners for pinochle, and the weekend
winners were Helen Opperman and Larry Van Bibber. Ann Greger won
RummiKub.
