Christian College to host NCCAA volleyball championship

GREENVILLE, S.C.
-- The National Christian College Athletic Association's 2004
Division II National Volleyball Championship will be at Lincoln
Christian College, Lincoln, Ill., Nov. 11-13.

The national championship will host
approximately 120 student-athletes plus coaching staff and fans from
NCCAA colleges and universities across the country. LCC's volleyball
team will be among the participating teams volleying for the 2004
national title. "We're excited
to hold the NCCAA volleyball championship in Lincoln," said Dan
Wood, executive director of the NCCAA. "Lincoln Christian's
commitment to this tournament and the assistance of Kevin Crawford
and Ed Plumier in making this partnership a reality is greatly
appreciated. We look forward to a successful event!"
Activities will begin with a
Christian service project on Wednesday. NCCAA student-athletes will
help the Lincoln YMCA move into their new facility. "This is an
outstanding way in which LCC and the NCCAA can give back to the
Lincoln community," said Kevin Crawford, LCC volleyball coach.

Following the Christian service
project, there will be a banquet Wednesday night. Tina Rogers-Smith,
a former volleyball star from the University of Illinois, will be
the guest speaker, challenging the players to excellence.
Games begin on Thursday in the
Lincoln Christian College Laughlin Center. Championship brackets are
posted at www.thenccaa.org and

 The National Christian College
Athletic Association, founded in 1966 and headquartered in
Greenville, S.C., is an organization of 108 Christ-centered colleges
and universities with a mission of using athletic competition as an
integral component of education, evangelism and encouragement. The
NCCAA hosts 23 national championships and invitationals for men's
and women's soccer, volleyball and basketball, football, cross
country, track and field, indoor track and field, men's golf,
tennis, baseball and softball.
