The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

The Oasis will be closed Friday in
observance of Veterans Day. Activities will resume at 9 a.m. Monday.
Birthday
party
Seniors who celebrate their birthday
in November are encouraged to bring a guest and join the fun
starting at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the senior center. There will be
games, prizes, entertainment, cake and ice cream.
Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch on Nov. 16 will
feature goulash, salad, bread and butter, dessert, and a soft drink
for only $3.75. Ticket purchase deadline is noon Monday.
Tara
Tyler will address think tank
Tara Tyler from the Central Illinois
Community Blood Center will be the guest speaker for the think tank
session Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. Seniors are invited to the informative
discussion and question-and-answer period. No reservation is
necessary.

Alzheimer
support group will meet
The regular monthly meeting of the
Alzheimer support group is scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 18 at the
senior center. No reservation is necessary. Support and information
are available for anyone who needs assistance.
Board
meeting open to public
All Oasis board meetings are open to
the public. The November meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Nov. 18. To
schedule any item on the agenda, the board must receive advance
notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month.

Brown bag
Rx service
The Oasis offers a free service of a
pharmacist to check your prescription, over-the counter medications
and herbal supplements for drug interactions. For appointments
between 1 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 19, call the senior center at 732-6132
or 732-5844.

food is coming
Self Help and Resource Exchange food
orders may be picked up between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19. December
orders also may be placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria
sponsors the program, which is open to everyone regardless of faith,
age or income.
Winners
announced
Larry Van Bibber was the weekday
winner for pinochle also won on the weekend, along with Bernie
Haley. Bernie DePuy and Ella Lee Graney won RummiKub.
