Lincoln Land defeated Morton College
81-53 in the first game of the Lady Lynx Classic.
White scored 13 points in the first 10
minutes of the game before going to the bench with a pair of fouls.
"Nicole provided the spark early and Tiffany was the deciding factor
in the game," said Lincoln coach Carol Wilson. "Tiffany gave us a
lift off the bench, hit some big shots and did a lot of the little
things that don't show up in the box score. She also played well
defensively."
Lincoln College led 32-22 at the
half as the Lynx limited Elgin to just five field goals. The
Spartans had 16 turnovers in the first half, and the only thing
keeping them in the game was the foul shooting of Amee Corn, who hit
seven straight at one point to pull the visitors to within four
points, 19-15. The Lynx limited Elgin to seven points over the final
nine minutes to post the halftime lead.
White finished with 17 points to
lead the Lynx, while Jessica Hamman added 13, Carmen Weaver had 11,
and Tungate added 10. Felicia Tarrant led the losers with 19 points,
all coming on 3-point goals, plus one foul shot.
