Bruce Weber has appendectomy     Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 16, 2004]  CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois men's basketball coach Bruce Weber underwent an appendectomy Monday afternoon at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Weber began experiencing some discomfort late last week and over the weekend. Following a doctor's examination Monday morning, it was determined that he should have his appendix removed. The surgery was successful and he was possibly to be released as a hospital outpatient that night.

Monday was a scheduled day off for the Illini, and Weber is not expected to miss more than a day or two of practice. The fifth-ranked Illini are scheduled to open the regular season Friday against Delaware State.
