[NOV. 20, 2004]  Canton, IL - Illinois Valley Community College slipped past the Lincoln College Lady Lynx, 59-57, in tourney action here Friday afternoon. The Lynx (2-3) will play Shawnee at noon Saturday at the Canton tourney.
 

  Lincoln College held a one point lead with 31 seconds remaining before Carter scored on a lay-up to put IVCC one top for good with 14 seconds left. The Lynx were able to get off a good shot, but were unable to connect and Michelson hit a foul shot for the final margin. The game was close throughout as the score was knotted at 28 at half-time.

Carmen Weaver tossed in 17 points to lead the Lady Lynx while Nicole White had 15. Carter took game scoring honors with 23 points for IVCC. Coach Carol Wilson said, "Our extra effort all over the court and our decision making must improve if we intend to hit the win column."

Lincoln College (57) - White 5-5-15; Weaver 7-2-17; Carey 0-1-1; Cruz 1-0-2; Lane 1-0-2; Tungate 0-3-3; Gore 2-0-4; Hamman 3-3-9; Rucks 2-0-4. Totals - 21-14-57. Three point goals - Weaver.

IVCC (59) - Michelson 1-1-3; Leonard 1-0-3;Crawley 4-0-9; Maierhofer 4-0-8; Carter 8-2-23; dePaula 2-0-4; Rosengren 4-1-9. Totals - 24-4-59. Three point goals - Leonard, Crawley, Carter 5.
