LC volleyball players honored in conference, region

[NOV. 22, 2004]  The volleyball honors continue to roll in for Lincoln College as four players recently were honored in the Central Illinois College Conference and in Region 24. Kristin Majka, Samantha McCoy, Danielle Crum and Rosie Miller all received honors.

Majka and McCoy were voted second-team all-region while the two, along with Crum, were voted to the second-team all-conference squad. Miller earned an honorable mention award in the conference.

"All four of these players were deserving of the honors," said Lincoln coach Mark Tippett. "The recognition they are getting is an indication that our program is going in the right direction."

Lincoln College finished the season with a 21-17 record.

Majka led the Lynx with 264 kills and was second with 155 digs. She also had 77 blocks, contributed 32 aces and led all servers with 232 points. Her service percentage was 96.

McCoy played the libero position and was first on the team with 245 digs. She had a 93 percent serving average and a total of 39 aces for the season. Crum came in with 160 kills and 157 blocks while serving at a 96 percent clip with 46 aces. Miller led the Lynx with 522 set assists and served at a 98 percent rate. She was second on the team with 228 points.
