[SEPT.

The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Fall card party
Tickets are available at the
front desk for the fall card party on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. A $5
donation includes cards, pinochle, bridge or rummy, dessert, and
drink. Deadline for ticket purchase is Thursday.
Van trips
A few seats are available for
the El Paso trip on Friday, Oct. 15, for the Front Street Tea Room
and shopping. Deadline is Oct. 7, and the fee is $10 for members and
$12 for nonmembers.
The deadline to purchase
tickets for the Oak Ridge Boys at Nashville North in Taylorville is
Oct. 22. The performance is Nov. 6, with transportation and show
ticket at $33 for members and $35 for nonmembers.
Pinochle challenge
The Oasis senior center won the
pinochle trophy when challenged recently by the Taylorville senior
center. Help our pinochle players return the second trophy Oct. 5
when Springfield is in town. The pinochle and lunch ticket is only
$3.25. The lunch that day is chicken and dumplings. Reservation
deadline is noon Oct. 4.

Hearing screening
Call 732-6132 for your
appointment at the senior center on Oct. 6 to have a free hearing
test administered by the Hearing Aid Center.
Winners announced
Henry Warnisher was the weekly
pinochle winner. Marjorie Reiners and Ruth Ackerman won on the
weekend. Ann Greger and Dorthy Oltmanns won 5 in 1.
