Lincolnite turned LA Laker, Brian Cook takes the floor for a new season     Send a link to a friend

By Jeff Mayfield

[OCT. 13, 2004]  Lincoln's Brian Cook was a sparkling 3-for-3 from the field for six points in last night's Lakers game with the Seattle Sonics. Cook also pulled down a rebound and had an assist to go along with four personal fouls in LA's 87-80 setback at the Pond in Anaheim.

Cook and the Lakers will next take on the Golden State Warriors Sunday in Bakersfield, Calif.

Cook recently told LDN reporters Greg Taylor and Jeff Mayfield that he is very excited about his upcoming second season. He indicated that he has had some great conversations with new Lakers coach Rudy T and that the coach plans to play Cook around 20 minutes a game.

Given Cook's penchant for having a silky jumper from the perimeter and his ability to thread the needle with his passing, it appears that the Lakers could use as many minutes as they can get with this kid on the floor.

Stay tuned throughout the NBA season, as we will try to bring you as many updates as we possibly can.
