He finished his Illini career as the
third-highest scorer in history, with 1,748 points, and the
fifth-highest rebounder, with 815 rebounds. He led the team to 98
victories, the third-highest in Illinois history.
Cook was the Big Ten's Player of the
Year in 2003 and later became a first-round pick by the
Los Angeles
Lakers. He expects to be a big component for the Lakers as they
begin the post-Shaq era this season.
