Lincoln Park District notes

Fall flurry     Send a link to a friend

[OCT. 21, 2004]  Fall is arriving at the Lincoln Park District with a flurry of activities. Nearly every age bracket has something offered. Watch for this column in the next few weeks for current updates on new programs being offered.

It couldn't be fall without basketball! Junior Railers sign-up for the boys will begin Monday (Oct. 25) at the Lincoln Park District. Orientation will be on Nov. 13, with grading on Nov. 20. This is a great program designed to teach the fundamentals and basic skills of the game. Parental involvement with coaching and sportsmanship is encouraged.

Men's basketball sign-ups are going on now as well. Men are asked to get their roster and league information at the front desk. Rosters are due back by Sunday (Oct. 24). It is hoped that league play will begin on Wednesdays in early November.

Halloween Fun Fest will be on Oct. 28. Two free fun events are planned for the evening.  Start at Maple Ridge Care Centre from 4 to 6 p.m. The residents will really enjoy treating the little trick-or-treaters. Then from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Halloween Fun Fest will be in full swing at the Lincoln Park District. Games, prizes, candy and costume judging will round out a "spooktacular" night. Parents and grandparents are welcome as well.
