Kristin Majka had eight kills, two digs and five
points; Danielle Crum had four kills to go with five blocks; and
Erica Lill had five kills and three blocks. Samantha McCoy
contributed with five digs and six points; Beth Applen had two digs
and three points; and Spencer Hall had three kills and one point.
"Tonight, our defense was the deciding factor," said Lincoln coach
Mark Tippett. "Our blockers did an outstanding job at the net,
scoring several points off blocks and disrupting the Carl Sandburg
offense. Carl Sandburg never quit and made late runs at us in the
second and third games, which created some tension on our side;
however, we were able to keep our composure and take control of the
game when we had to. Overall, it was a great team effort, and I was
proud of the way we performed."
