"We really fought hard Thursday
night," said Lincoln coach Mark Tippett. "Carl Sandburg was much
improved from last year, and I think we took them a bit lightly in
the beginning match. I was pleased with how we rebounded from the
first game to take the next two. We let a seven-point lead slip away
in the fourth game, but we kept our composure and still had
opportunities to win the match. We were never able to put them away,
though, and they wound up taking the fourth game from us. It wasn't
our night. …We didn't earn the win, but I believe we gained some
valuable experience that will make us a stronger team in the long
run."
