LCHS wins volleyball tournament in Missouri

[SEPT. 13, 2004]  The Lincoln Community High School varsity volleyball team won the St. Francis Borgia Tournament in Missouri on Saturday.

Top 4 finishers

  1. Lincoln
  2. Breese Mater Dei
  3. Parkway West
  4. St. Francis Borgia

Pool play

Lincoln over Francis Howell North 25-12, 25-10

Lincoln over Timberland 25-10, 25-10

St. Francis Borgia over Lincoln 25-20, 25-17

Lincoln placed second in the Blue Pool and played the first-place team in the Gold Pool for a semifinal win over Parkway West 25-23, 25-11. In the championship match, Lincoln defeated Breese Mater Dei 25-16, 25-17.

Individual stats

Brooklyn Robbins ended the tournament with 142 assists, 14 blocks and 14 digs.

Miche McFadden amassed 62 kills, 18 blocks and 16 digs.

Erin Frick had 33 kills and 15 blocks.

Maria Benitez fielded 10 digs and served up 19 points.

Katie Green led the team with five aces and had nine digs.

Melanie Boyer led with 18 digs and also led with 32 service points.

Michelle Fitzpatrick came up with 16 service points and 13 digs.

Megan Hoffert had 21 kills.

Julie Fults came up with 11 kills.

Next up

Lincoln's record is now 8-1 with another tournament next weekend in East Peoria.
