Lincoln College soccer vs. Kennedy King    Send a link to a friend

[SEPT. 14, 2004]  Lincoln College won its second soccer match of the season by downing Kennedy King of Chicago 3-1 at Lincoln on Saturday afternoon. The victory runs the Lincoln College record to 2-4 for the season. The Lynx are at home Tuesday against Lewis & Clark.

Augistine Barboza scored the only goal of the first half, on an assist from Adrian Contreras, to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead. In the second half Santos Omar Rodriguez scored with an assist from Pat Maxwell, and the Lynx increased the lead to 3-0 on a goal by Contreras, with the assist going to Carl Bartholomay.

Kennedy King scored its lone goal with 17 minutes left in the game.

"We played very well and moved the ball exceptionally well," said Lincoln coach Ben Massena. "Rodriguez played an outstanding game, and Chris Pettineo was outstanding in goal once again." Pettineo was credited with 14 saves in the contest.
