[SEPT. 16, 2004]  Parkland College handed the Lincoln College Lynx a volleyball loss at Lincoln Wednesday in four games. The first game went to Parkland by a 33-31 score before the Lynx bounced back to take the second game 30-17. Parkland then won the next two games 30-23 and 30-18 to win the match.

Parkland (2-0) leads the conference, and Lincoln drops to 1-2 in the conference and 6-3 overall. The Lynx will be at home against Black Hawk East at noon Saturday and will host Lewis & Clark Monday in a conference match.

Danielle Crum recorded five kills, nine blocks and nine points for the Lynx, while Erica Lill had nine kills and five points. Kristen Meminger had eight kills and three points, with Chelsea Faith contributing eight kills and six points.

"The first game was very close throughout as it went back and forth," said Lincoln coach Mark Tippett. "We had our chances but couldn't get the big points. We dominated the second game to even the match, but then for some reason we kind of lost our focus and our passing game disappeared. Parkland's servers did an outstanding job after the second game. We played well against a team that has been at the top of our conference for the last four years, so it is encouraging to see that we can contend. We just need to sharpen up our passing. It is definitely something to build on."
