[SEPT. 20, 2004]  VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Lincoln College extended its winning streak to four in a row as they defeated Valparaiso 1-0 Saturday afternoon. The 1-0 victory is the third straight shutout for the Lynx, all by scores of 1-0.

The victory gives the Lynx a 5-4 record and they host Danville Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Chris Pettineo was once again in goal for the Lynx and recorded six saves. Santos Omar Rodriguez scored the LC goal 22 minutes into the first half of play. The goal was assisted by Paul Davis.

"Our defensive play has been phenomenal these last three games," said Ben Massena, coach of the Lynx. "We have been minimizing the chances our opponents have gotten, and this runs our win streak to four in a row. Miguel Orozco and Leandro Jones played outstanding, with Jones doing a really good job since I moved him to center midfield. During this run, we have been dictating the play, and we hope to continue against Danville."
