Pettineo honored     Send a link to a friend

[SEPT. 22, 2004]  Chris Pettineo has been named the Division I National Player of the Week for junior college soccer, Lincoln College coach Ben Massena announced.

Pettineo has registered three straight shutouts to boost the Lincoln College record to 5-4 for the season. During the three-game stretch, Pettineo has registered 26 saves.

"Chris has been amazing as our goalkeeper," Massena said. "He is the big reason we have won four in a row, as he has given up just one goal in the four games."

Pettineo is serving as one of the captains on the Lincoln College team. He played his high school soccer at Naperville Central.

Lincoln College has equaled last season's win total and will host Danville at 4 p.m. today (Wednesday).
