Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn to visit Lincoln for christening re-enactment     Send a link to a friend

[SEPT. 23, 2004]  Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn will stop in Lincoln on Friday at approximately 4:55 p.m. to witness the re-enactment of the christening of Lincoln at the christening site, McCarty's at the Depot.

Quinn will visit all of the Main Street cities on Route 66 from Chicago to Springfield Friday to promote the third annual Illinois Route 66 Expo in downtown Springfield Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26. Over 50,000 visitors are expected at the Springfield event.

The festivities in Lincoln include the christening re-enactment as well as short speeches by local and state dignitaries. The program will end at approximately 5:45 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
