The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Thursday at 1 p.m. St. Clara's will
sponsor bingo with prizes, snacks and a lot of laughs. Join all your
September food orders will be available
for pickup from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday at the senior center. October
orders may also be placed. The food distribution program sponsored
by the Diocese of Peoria is open to anyone regardless of age or
The class will meet at 3:45 p.m. Friday
in the Oasis library to hone the necessary skills for writing family
memories. No reservation necessary.
Join us on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
for a meeting hosted by Pat O'Neal. Issues affecting seniors today
and in the future will be addressed. No reservation necessary.
Pick up your $3.75 ticket by Monday for
the Sept. 28 lunch of vegetable-beef soup and crackers, carrot and
celery sticks, dessert, and drink. Stay and play cards or bunco and
lunch is only $3.25.

The VA representative will not be
available Sept. 28. His next date at the senior center will be Oct.
12 from 9 to 11:45 a.m.
Tickets for the Sept. 30 bingo event,
starting with coffee at 8:30 a.m., must be purchased by Sept. 29. A
donation of $3.50 includes breakfast, bingo and a snack later.
