Parkland beat the Lynx 30-23 and 32-30, while Rend Lake needed three
games to beat the Lynx. Lincoln College won the first game against
Rend Lake 30-27 but lost the next two games, with Rend Lake posting
wins by the scores of 30-17 and 15-11.
"We got off to a slow start against Parkland by letting one of the
servers run off 10 points," said LC coach Mark Tippett. "I was pleased
with the way we battled back, and from that point we played them
evenly. After taking the first game from Rend Lake, we let down
mentally and struggled in our passing game. We are learning the hard
way that if you don't stay focused and confident, the teams in our
region will find a way to beat you. We have three matches Saturday,
and if we pass the ball and play as a team, I am confident we will
start winning some of these close matches."
Kristin Majka had eight kills and 10 points, while Kristen Meminger
scored nine points and nine kills. Victoria Tuttle was credited
with four kills and five points; Erica Lill had eight kills and five
blocks; and Rosie Miller had 11 set assists and seven points.
