[Letter as it appeared in The Courier]

To the editor:

I want to tell you a story. Last week I spoke with Celeste Rogers of TV Channel 5 about participating in a debate at 7 p.m. Wednesday. I was to go behind the water company and enter the back door to the television studio. I was to be there 20 minutes early so they could adjust sound and so on. I told her would be there.

Tonight, March 23, I am exactly where I was told to be. No one was there yet, so I waited. And I waited. And I waited.

At 7:10 p.m., I decided maybe I had misunderstood and the debate was at the college. So I went down there -- no one there. I went back to the TV studio. No one there either.

So I gave up and attended the special meeting of the Logan County Board.

As I am driving home my daughter called me and told me they had the debate and said I had called and said I couldn't make it. They did it without me! And it was on purpose! (Guess I shouldn't be shocked -- that's how they got where they are, by deceit.)

Celeste had my cell phone number, my work number and my home phone number. Neither she, nor anyone else, called me to tell me of a change in plans. I guess I should be flattered that they have stooped to such low levels to keep the voters from knowing me.

I expect a written apology from not only Celeste Rogers and Channel 5, but also equal free TV time for the voters to ask me questions without Davis and O'Donohue taking part. By the way, I have tried to call Celeste, but she's not answering her phone! Imagine that!
