The Lynx, 7-7, will play host to
Danville at 11 a.m. Saturday in a twin bill. It will be the first
home games of the season for Lincoln College. Danville was rated
seventh in the nation in the preseason poll.
In the second game, Lincoln College
scored twice in the first inning and three times in the fourth to
take a 5-1 lead and then held on to gain the split. Ryan Driskill
picked up the victory with five innings of work, giving up four
hits, one earned run, one walk and seven strikeouts. Rich Ennis and
Kyle Bruce each pitched one inning, with Bruce gaining the save.
Adam York, Brad Hall and Jake Jones
each had a pair of hits for the Lynx. York had the big blow, a
three-run homer in the fourth inning. Jones had a pair of RBIs and
Hall had a double. Tyler Casson and Bryant Wright had the other hits
for Lincoln College.
Nick Kidwell was the tough-luck
loser in the first game, giving up six hits and one earned run in
six innings, with three strikeouts and one walk. The Lynx were
limited to five hits, with Casson collecting a pair of singles while
Wright, Jason Williams and Nick Meredith had one hit each.

"We had our opportunities but we
just couldn't get the first run across," said Lincoln coach Tony
Thomas. "If we could have pushed the first run across, I think
others would have followed, but we weren't able to get the big hit.
Our defense let us down a little also. We have been playing great
defense, but we made three errors. Nick pitched a great game and
deserved to win. We just didn't score."
