[APRIL 8, 2005]  Strong pitching carried Lincoln College to a doubleheader sweep of Lincoln Christian College at Galen Shirley Field in Lincoln on Thursday afternoon. The victory evens the Lynx record at 10-10 for the season.

The Lynx play a JV game at home Friday against Illinois Wesleyan and will host Danville in a conference doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. The same two teams will play a nine-inning game in Lincoln on Sunday.

Blaen Fletcher picked up the win in the first game, giving up three hits while striking out four and walking three. Jarad Otloe pitched the final inning. Adam York and Jake Jones each had three hits to lead an 11-hit attack. Jones scored three times, had a pair of RBIs and connected for a double, while York scored twice and had a triple. Brad Hall had a pair of hits with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Tyler Casson, Anthony Eagan and Brian Rynearson had the other hits for the Lynx.

In the second game, Kyle Bruce picked up the win with three innings, three hits and five strikeouts. Rich Ennis and Ryan Driskill each worked one inning. Lincoln College scored nine times in the third inning to break the game open.

The Lynx had just six hits in the contest, one each from Hall, Bryant Wright, Dustin Duffie, Jones, Casson and Kyle Killenger. Hall had a triple and three RBIs with two runs scored, while Wright had a double with three RBIs and a pair of runs. Killinger also had a triple with two runs, and Casson had a triple.
