[APRIL 20, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- First lady Patti Blagojevich was scheduled to host a mock press conference this morning (Wednesday) at the executive mansion for fourth-grade students from Harristown Elementary School. This marks the 35th anniversary of the event, started by Jeff Deremiah, who was a language arts teacher at Harristown Elementary School. Before retiring, Deremiah had brought his "student reporters" to the capital city to meet with governors' wives since 1970. The tradition continues this year with teachers Mary Sobek and Beckie Poole.

Students "represent" different news organizations, ranging from the New York Times to Entertainment Weekly. Questions have been very diverse, varying from students asking Mrs. Blagojevich what it is like being the first lady of Illinois to what her favorite movie is.

A small reception was planned for the students, and they were to be treated to a private tour of the mansion before the "press conference."
