[AUG. 19, 2005]  The Logan County Courthouse Centennial Committee is finalizing plans for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Logan County Courthouse, scheduled for Nov. 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. Highlights include a parade, rededication of the courthouse, open house and tours of the courthouse. Main Street Lincoln will have its auction of the Lincoln Hats after 5 p.m. Mark your calendars and plan to join in the festive occasion.

Aug. 31 is the deadline for submitting stories or photos of particular events that occurred at the courthouse or the grounds over the past 100 years. Do you remember cruising the courthouse square in the '60s? Do you remember how busy the downtown square was on Friday evenings? How about that unemployment office in the courthouse? Were you involved in Junior Achievement when it was in the courthouse basement?

If you submit photos, be sure to include the names of individuals shown in the photos, as well as a brief description of the event that was photographed. Photos will not be returned, so please submit good-quality copies. The stories and photos will be put into a souvenir booklet format.
