Community 9-11 Prayer Breakfast rapidly approaching          Send a link to a friend

[AUG. 20, 2005]  The horrific events that transpired on Sept. 11, 2001, will never be forgotten. As an apt memorial, Community Builders is again sponsoring a community prayer breakfast. This unique worship experience that corresponds to our nation's remembrance of the 9-11 tragedy will actually occur on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. It will be co-hosted by Community Builders and Lincoln Christian College and Seminary in the Laughlin Center on LCC's campus.

Last year more than 220 local residents, including many local and area leaders, gathered to pray for our community. They prayed for local, state and national leaders, and they prayed for families and young people in Logan County. This year, as in last year's program, there will be an opportunity to reflect, to repent, to offer requests and to rejoice.

There are still a limited number of tickets remaining for the prayer breakfast, as a crowd of over 300 is expected. Secure a spot for yourself, your family and a group from your church by phoning (217) 732-3168, ext. 2243, for tickets. The cost is $8.

This special prayer breakfast is sponsored yearly by Community Builders, a local group of professional and lay church leaders who pray for Logan County faithfully and consistently. They are also actively and proactively striving to make our community a better place in which to live. The public is always welcome to join in with the Community Builders on the second Thursday of every month from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Kingdom Life Ministries, 2500 Woodlawn Road.
