Great horned owl to have book signing     Send a link to a friend

[DEC. 5, 2005]  DECATUR -- Spud, the great horned owl, will have a book signing at Backyard Birds on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. "The Least of These," a book by Joan Harris, with the foreword by Jane Goodall, profiles wild baby bird rescue stories from wildlife centers across the United States. Spud is featured in one of the stories.

The book signing is a fundraiser for the Illinois Raptor Center, where Spud lives. For a $20 donation to the center, the contributor receives the book and Spud's autograph.

Raptor adoptions and other items will also be available.

Backyard Birds is located at 2920 S. Mount Zion Road, Decatur.

For more information or to request a copy of the book, call (217) 963-6909 or send an e-mail to barnowl@illinoisraptorcenter.org.
