Wal-Mart Supercenter poll results now available       Send a link to a friend

[DEC. 5, 2005]  Results of the reader poll asking, "What is your opinion on a Wal-Mart Supercenter coming to Lincoln?" have been tabulated.

Readers were asked in a poll that ran from Nov. 26 to 28 if they thought that a Wal-Mart expansion would be good for Lincoln or bad for Lincoln.
  • 69 percent said that a Wal-Mart expansion would be good for Lincoln.
  • 31 percent said that a Wal-Mart expansion would be bad for Lincoln.
  • 45 percent said that they buy groceries outside of Logan County. Three percent of those who said that they buy groceries outside the county still felt that a Wal-Mart expansion would be bad for the area.

The poll is designed to maintain voter anonymity. However, it provides sufficient information to identify attempts at stacking votes.

These results are believed to be accurate by plus or minus 5 percent.
