IDOT and EIU sponsor Campus Alcohol Traffic Safety Conference    

[FEB. 5, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety, along with Eastern Illinois University and the National Highway Traffic Safety Association will host the 13th annual Campus Alcohol Traffic Safety Conference on Feb. 7 and 8 at the Hilton in Springfield. The purpose of this conference is to discuss new initiatives to address the alcohol issues on college campuses.

College students and administrators from more than 40 colleges and universities and representatives from 10 state agencies will be in attendance. The college students will lead a breakout session from 2 to 2:45 p.m. on Feb. 7 to discuss ideas about how to reduce drinking on college campuses.

The conference is sponsored by Eastern Illinois University and funded through a grant by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Association.
