Wolverine 7A boys trotting into quarterfinals

[FEB. 7, 2005]  West Lincoln-Broadwell 7A boys continued in their quest toward No. 1 in the state with a big 66-37 win over Our Lady of Lourdes on Saturday.

West Lincoln-Broadwell put together a dominating offense in the victory over Decatur Our Lady of Lourdes. The WL-B Wolverines scored 27 points in the first quarter, ended the first half with 44 points and added 22 points in the second half.

Leading scorers for the Wolverines were Ben Brackey with 23 points and Cameron Turner with 17 points. The leading scorer for the Lancers of Our Lady of Lourdes was Brennan McElroy with 11 points.

The Wolverines, now 20-1, enter the quarterfinals tonight at 6:45 against Findlay Okaw Valley (17-7) at Clinton High School.

If they win, they will continue play tomorrow night against the winner of the La Harpe (21-0) versus Pontiac St. Mary’s (21-2) game.
