[FEB. 9, 2004]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Oasis potluck and bingo

Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for the monthly potluck lunch, featuring chicken and dressing casserole, salads, special dishes, and desserts. Bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation. Stay for Oasis-sponsored bingo games, the lunch drawing and more surprises. Bring a friend.

Tuesday lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch on Feb. 15 will feature baked ham, potatoes, mixed vegetables, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for only $3.75. Ticket purchase deadline is noon Thursday (Feb.10). The deadline is early due to the senior center being closed Feb. 11 in observance of the Lincoln’s Birthday holiday.

Card winners announced

Bernie DePuy, Ella Lee Graney, Ruth Ackerman and Larry Van Bibber were weekend winners for pinochle. The weekday pinochle winner was Helen Cart.
