the Week:
Dee Brown, guard, University of
Illinois junior from Maywood, Proviso East.

Brown led Illinois to two road
victories after averaging 18.5 points on 64 percent shooting, while
adding 7.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game last week.
He posted the second double-double of
his career in an 83-63 victory over Penn State, scoring 19 points,
including a season-high five 3-pointers, while dishing out a
game-high 11 assists. Brown also had four rebounds and two steals
while committing only one turnover against the Nittany Lions.
He followed with another clutch
performance at Iowa, shooting 7-of-11 from the floor (.636) for the
second consecutive game to finish with 18 points, while adding three
assists and two steals.

Brown currently ranks second on the
team in scoring (13.6 ppg) and assists (4.8 ppg). He is also rated
second in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (45.2) and
third in steals (2.0 spg).
This is Brown's second weekly laurel
of the year, as he was also honored on Nov. 22, 2004.
