Logan County Courthouse tales and such from the past 100 years       Send a link to a friend

[FEB. 24, 2005]  The Logan County Courthouse Centennial Committee is making plans for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Logan County Courthouse later this year. To enhance the quality of the celebration Nov. 5 and 9, the committee is asking the citizens of Logan County to submit their stories of particular events they remember that have occurred at the courthouse or the grounds over the past 100 years.

Photographs are also welcome. Photographs can include the courthouse square as well as events on the grounds or in the building. Contributors are reminded to be sure to put their name and address on each photo that depicts some event occurring in the courthouse or on the grounds.

Stories or photos should be placed in an envelope labeled "Centennial Stories" and taken to the office of the Logan County Board on the first floor of the courthouse or to the Lincoln College Museum in Lincoln. Contributors are reminded to put their name and address on the envelope in order that the photos can be returned.

Citizens who have questions concerning the courthouse stories may call the county board office, 732-6400, or the Lincoln College Museum, 732-3155, ext. 295.

[Paul E. Gleason, chairman, Logan County Courthouse Centennial Committee]
