No loans in exchange for a child; coal mining effort supported

[JAN. 8, 2005]  SPRINGFIELD -- Gov. Rod Blagojevich took action Thursday on the following bills:

Senate Bill 2499

Concerning: Criminal law -- tech

Description: Provides that no person or entity shall offer, provide or co-sign a loan or any other credit accommodation, directly or indirectly, with a biological parent or a relative of a biological parent based on the contingency of a surrender or placement of a child for adoption.

Action: Approved

Effective: Immediately

Senate Bill 3188

Concerning: Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity -- tech

Description: Adds an immediate effective date to SB 3188.

Action: Amendatory veto
