Cook helps Lakers win again     Send a link to a friend

By Jeff Mayfield

[JAN. 11, 2005]  Brian Cook just keeps on helping this new edition of the Lakers make a playoff march. As evidence, check out last night's big road contest versus the Timberwolves at Minnesota. Before the game, most NBA pundits would've chalked it up as yet another Laker road loss. But Cook and his mates had other ideas, as they hung a big "L" on the T-wolves.

Cook tallied eight points, including two huge 3-pointers, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one huge blocked shot. Cook made his 19 minutes of action pay off and helped lead the big fourth-quarter comeback and rally, taking the Lakers to a huge victory away from home. In fact, L.A. went on a 26-7 run that actually put the game away.

It was a huge surprise, especially when you consider that the Lakers shot only 19 percent from the field in the first quarter. ["L.A. Lakers 105, Minnesota 96; Lakers Start Slow, Finish Strong In Minnesota"]

Next up for Cook and the Lakers is a road game at Denver on Wednesday night.
