Bobby Maestas worked six innings in the first game, allowing one
earned run on five hits. He walked three and struck out eight in
improving his record to 4-0. Carl Spath pitched the final inning for
Lincoln. Eric Broughton collected three hits, including a double
and a triple, and drove in three runs for Lincoln. John Foley had
two hits and two RBIs, and Tim Guy had two hits with three RBIs.
Lincoln never trailed in the game, scoring one in the first and
five in the second inning. The big hit in the second inning was a
John Foley single to right field on a hit-and-run play scoring Guy
and Alex Dahm.
The second game saw the lead change five times as Lincoln pulled
out a 10-9 win, scoring two in the last of the seventh.
Aaron Altman started for Lincoln, working 4.1 innings and
allowing only two earned runs. He was relieved by Carl Spath in the
fifth. Spath gave way to Eric Broughton in the top of the seventh.
Broughton got the win to make his record 4-1.

Offensively, Broughton had two hits and four RBIs. John Foley
added two hits and one RBI, and Chris Finley added two hits,
including the game-winning RBI in the seventh. Tim Guy had two RBIs
and Alex Dahm added one.
With Pontiac leading by one entering the last of the seventh,
Kevin Carrroll and Paul Phillips were each hit by a pitch. Tim Guy
attempted to lay down a sacrifice bunt, and the ball ended up
getting past the pitcher for an infield single. Carroll never
stopped running on the play and ended up scoring to tie the game.
Cory Pelc was intentionally walked to load the bases. Chris Finley
singled to left field, scoring Phillips and giving Lincoln the win.
Lincoln benefited from six hit batsmen.
Lincoln travels to Macomb Saturday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader and
returns to home play Tuesday evening against Springfield at 5:30.
