School supply drive          Send a link to a friend

[JULY 11, 2005]  ATLANTA -- Community Action, Lincoln Country 96.3 FM radio of Atlanta and Wal-Mart of Lincoln want to make sure Logan County students have the tools they need to start school, so they are asking for help from the public to "Cram the Van."

Individuals are asked to purchase school supplies at any retailer and, from July 25 through Aug. 10, place them in the designated receptacle inside the Lincoln Wal-Mart store. Lists of required supplies for each Logan County school are available at Wal-Mart.

Lincoln Country 96.3 and Central Illinois Economic Development Corporation staff members will be at the Lincoln Wal-Mart with the CIEDC van on Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accept donations.

In mid-August, CIEDC will assemble and distribute backpacks of supplies to children of qualifying families throughout the county. To make a cash donation or to see if your family qualifies for assistance, call the Community Action office at 732-2159.
