The first game went eight innings as Macomb scored a run in their
half of the final inning to break a 6-6 tie and win 7-6. Eric
Broughton started on the mound for Lincoln and went six innings,
giving up seven hits and three walks while striking out five. John
Foley took over entering the seventh and suffered the loss, making
his record 3-3.
Drew Olson hit his third home run of the season with a two-run
shot in the fifth. Kevin Carroll was 3-for-3 with two doubles and
two RBIs. Cory Pelc had two RBIs, when he drove in Lincoln's first
two runs with a single in the second inning. Lincoln batters struck
out 11 times against a good Macomb pitcher, Smith. Lincoln left only
three runners on base while collecting eight hits and drawing two
walks.

The second game of the doubleheader was a 13-10 Lincoln victory.
Paul Phillips was 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Eric Broughton had
three hits, including a double, and added three RBIs. Cory Pelc had
two RBIs. Drew Olson, Kevin Carroll, Alex Dahm and Gary Rademaker
each had two hits. The bottom five batters in the Lincoln batting
order -- Carroll, Chase Lowery, Phillips, Dahm and Rademaker --
combined for 10 runs, 11 hits, 13 bases, four walks and four RBIs.
John Foley improved his record to 4-3, going four innings. Carl
Spath relieved him in the fifth to record his second save.
Lincoln plays a 5:30 p.m. home game against Springfield Post 32
Tuesday at Pete Andrews Baseball Complex.
