[JULY 15, 2005]  Lincoln Post 263 improved its record to 19-8, defeating Dalton City Post 475 of Mount Zion 11-2 Thursday evening at Pete Andrews Baseball Complex.

John Foley upped his record to 5-3, striking out 11 and scattering eight hits. Both runs scored by Mount Zion were earned.

Offensively, Lincoln had 10 hits and was aided by four hit batsmen, six walks and three Mount Zion errors. Drew Olson hit his fourth home run of the season with a solo shot leading off the fourth inning. He also had a single and two RBIs for the evening. Cory Pelc and Chase Lowery each added two RBIs. Eight Lincoln batters each had a hit, and five of Lincoln's runs were earned.

Lincoln hosts Decatur Post 105 at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Pulaski and closes out the regular season with a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday in Danville.
