The city wastewater treatment facility has a
new manager. David Kitzmiller, an 18-year veteran in the industry,
will replace Grant Eaton from Environmental Management Corp.

Several months ago Eaton announced that he would be leaving Lincoln
and EMC. Following the loss of his father he decided to return to
upstate New York to be with his family.
Grant Eaton
Mayor Beth Davis expressed sincere appreciation for Eaton's work
and the reliable service that he has provided in his years of
working with the city. She cited various instances when he was out
on the streets when there was flooding or sewer collapses or at the
plant during emergencies and stayed with it until the situation was
resolved or brought under control.
Eaton's knowledge and experience of Lincoln's sewer system will
not be lost. He committed to Mayor Davis to remain available as a
consultant.
Eaton's last day was June 10. There will be a reception in his
honor following Monday evening's city council meeting.
Eaton has spent several weeks bringing Kitzmiller up to speed.

Kitzmiller has just returned to EMC to take this position. He was
with the company previously for seven years and has been in waste
management for the past 18 years.
From 1998 to 2002 Kitzmiller was EMC's manager of Litchfield's
wastewater treatment facility. From there he went to be the public
works director in East Dundee
until coming to Lincoln last month.

Eaton said that when he decided he would be leaving and he began
to think of who would make a good replacement, "Dave was the first
person I thought of. I'm glad EMC could get him back," he said.
Kitzmiller is looking for a home in Lincoln for his family, which
includes his wife and their 4-year-old son.
