John Foley went seven innings for Lincoln, allowing only four hits
and one earned run while striking out three.
Lincoln pounded out 18 hits, six for extra bases. Drew Olson had
three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs. Eric
Broughton also had three hits with one RBI, and Chance Berger had
three hits, including a double. Four Lincoln hitters had two hits
each: Tyson Durst, including two RBIs; Kevin Carroll, including one
RBI; Tim Guy; and Bobby Maestas. Cory Pelc had a triple with three
RBIs.
The play of the game undoubtedly went to Eric Broughton. With one
out in the Springfield eighth, Broughton ran from left center to
right center to make a spectacular diving catch on a fly ball at the
base of the wall.
