[JUNE 30, 2005]  Officials from the city of Lincoln, Logan County Board, and the Lincoln and Logan County Development Partnership officially finalized a deal Wednesday with Robert's Sysco Food Service Inc. on a replacement facility for its food service distribution operation. Robert's Sysco is a subsidiary of SYSCO Corporation (NYSE: SYY).

The new facility will be located on a 52-acre lot at the northwest corner of Connelley Road and Fifth Street in Lincoln. Construction of the new facility is expected to begin in mid-July, with opening scheduled for July 2006.

The closing culminates several months of negotiations between the company, city, county, development partnership and several landowners. An adjacent 50-plus acres will also soon be made available for sale to other businesses looking for sites to expand or relocate. Details of this community-controlled commerce park will be provided when they become available.
