Bryant Wright had three hits in four
trips and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Lincoln College
hitters in the victory. Brad Hall had a solo homer for the Lynx in
the seventh inning. Collecting one hit each for Lincoln College were
Tyler Casson, Adam York, Andy Bakhaus and Kyle Killenger.
Max McCorvie picked up the win for the
Lynx, giving up one earned run in four innings of work. Kyle Bruce
pitched two innings, and Colton McClellan picked up the save with
one inning of work.
In the first game, Hall and Wright
had the lone hits for Lincoln College. Matt Miller was the
tough-luck loser, giving up just two runs in five innings while
striking out five and walking four.
"We have played very well down
here," said Lincoln coach Tony Thomas. "We have come out and
competed with these teams. A lot of our teams in the past have not
really competed well with the southern teams. Our coaching staff is
excited about our chances with this group. They have had
opportunities, and we are just one key play from getting over the
hump. Matt pitched an excellent game in the opener and we had some
chances but didn't get the key hit."
