Freeze warning
The National Weather Service office
in Lincoln has issued a freeze warning in effect from 1 to 8 a.m.
Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to plunge
to record or near-record levels in parts of central Illinois
overnight. Readings will range from 28 to 32 degrees after midnight
along and north of a line from Beardstown through Lincoln to
Danville.
A freeze warning is issued when
freezing temperatures are forecast to threaten outdoor plants.
People with agricultural interests in the warned area are advised to
harvest or protect tender vegetation. Also, potted plants normally
left outdoors should be covered or brought inside, away from the
cold.

Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham,
Jasper, Lawrence, Macon, Morgan, Moultrie, Richland, Sangamon, Scott
and Shelby, including the cities of Decatur, Effingham, Flora,

in Lincoln has issued a frost advisory in effect from 1 to 8 a.m.
Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to drop to
near-record levels in parts of central and southeastern Illinois
overnight. Readings in the lower to middle 30s combined with light
wind and a clear sky will result in the development of frost after
midnight. Locations along and south of a line from Winchester
through Springfield to Paris will be affected by the widespread
frost.
A frost advisory is issued when
frost is expected to develop during the growing season. People with
agricultural interests in the warned area are advised to harvest or
protect tender vegetation. Also, potted plants normally left
outdoors should be covered or brought inside, away from the cold.
