IESA Class A Beardstown Sectional results

[MAY 9, 2005]  BEARDSTOWN -- Illini Central Middle School track teams were successful in sending 32 athletes to the state finals on Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14. At the Beardstown Sectional, the seventh-grade girls finished second behind Virginia 72-70. Eighth-grade girls, eighth-grade boys and seventh-grade boys all finished first.

The state-bound Cougars are as follows:

Seventh-grade girls: Sierra Burris, first in hurdles; Julie Shelabarger, Chelsea Picken, Morgan Armbrust and Seirra Burris, first, 4x100; Kathleen Harney, Jordyn Hull, Sarah Boehm and Ashley Lanzara, first, 4x200; Seirra Burris, Jennifer Musick, Morgan Armbrust and Taylor Sisk, first, 4x400; and Chelsea Picken, second, long jump

Eighth-grade girls: Jody Houchins, second, 1,600; Shelby List, third, 800; Kendra Koeppen, first, shot put, and third, discus; Alexandra Gamble, first, discus; Lia Blankenship, first, high jump

Eighth-grade boys: Cameron McCreery, first in hurdles, shot put and discus; Logan Frye, second, 400; Tyler Fairow, second, long jump; Ethan Bergman, Logan Frye, Nathan Hayes and Tyler Fairow, second, 4x400
