[MAY 11, 2005]  The Heritage In Flight Museum in Lincoln and Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 129 from Bloomington are once again bringing the magic of the Young Eagles program to the Logan County Airport. The event will be on Saturday (May 14) from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Young Eagles is a program designed to give kids ages 8-18 their first airplane ride at no cost. In order to take advantage of this flight, the children must be accompanied to the event by a parent or guardian. Rides are given in the order that the participants arrive at the airport.

Volunteers from HIF and EAA 129 will provide their own aircraft and piloting skills for the day.

Since its inception in 1992, the Experimental Aircraft Association's Young Eagles days have given over 1.1 million first-time rides to the nation's children. Many of the kids who have participated have gone on to aviation careers. The current chairman of the Young Eagles is actor Harrison Ford.
