Lincoln Park District notes       Send a link to a friend

From Roy Logan, activity director

[MAY 23, 2005]  Summer is being discovered here at Lincoln Park District. Our early summer focus is on enjoying the outdoors as safely as possible.

Hunter Safety is open to all ages. Whether you are shooting skeet or hunting big game, this course is for you. Illinois law now requires that anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1980, may not be issued a hunting license without a valid certificate of competency from the state. Successful completion of this course will provide that document. Covered in class will be hunter responsibility, wildlife conservation and gun safety.

There is no cost to take the course. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Participants must attend both days to graduate and must provide a valid Social Security number. Class is June 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. and June 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ballroom.

Registration is going on now for men's and women's softball leagues. We encourage interested adults to contact the office at 732-8770 to pick up their rosters and other information. We will be hosting the leagues here on our new ball diamonds. Rosters and fees are to be turned in by Wednesday. Schedules will be released soon after.
